What We Build: Kundi

Kundi is a tool belt of AI algorithms that always pick the right tool for the job.

If you have a hammer, you can’t make it into a wrench. If you have a wrench, you can’t make that into a screwdriver…and don’t even get me started on miter saws! (the one exception being “knife wrench ” for all those Scrubs fans out there) If you have a wrench problem and all you have is a screwdriver, you aren’t going to be very effective. Not every problem requires a wrench so having a single tool sort of defeats the purpose of the tool belt, tool chest, and/or toolbox. Most AI companies give you one tool. A general-purpose tool that is ok at some things and bad at other things. This was the challenge that we sought to address at Frontier Foundry with Kundi. Kundi is a tool belt of AI algorithms that always pick the right tool for the job. Kundi is an AI-powered analytics platform made up of hundreds of individual algorithms that each bring a unique skill to the table. Just like you don’t always need a screwdriver, you won’t always need every algorithm, but they will be there for when you do. Kundi’s algorithms are not just blunt tools, they are smart agents that work together on tough problems. Imagine having a toolset for every problem in the world. Only in the Kundi world, you aren’t responsible for choosing the right tool for the problem. Kundi does this for you by using special techniques that always bring the right algorithm for the problem at hand. Kundi can read any type of data you feed it and can sort and analyze huge volumes in seconds. Kundi’s visualization platform is designed to be what you need it to be. Not every organization or every leader wants to see the same, tired graph. You need the graph that will give you the competitive advantage. Kundi tells a story with data. One that is easily understandable and actionable by your people as you seek the advantages AI can deliver. Just as not every tool is a wrench, not every problem is a bolt. Your organization is likely sitting on a growing mountain of data. Are you able to get value from it? Are you creating competitive advantage because of it? Or are you overwhelmed by it? Don’t worry. Here’s the secret: you are already ahead because many organizations aren’t thinking about this at all. They are simply watching the data collect and not considering the unrealized value they are sitting on. We all know we have data. We all know that data is valuable. How does it become real dollars? Share The first step is to understand and acknowledge that not every challenge is the same. Your data might be in video format or maybe it is reams of financial transactions. Maybe it is a load of discovery data for a legal case. If the problem surface is unique, the tool needs to be unique. Better stated, the TOOLS need to be unique. Here’s another advantage of Kundi. All of those individual algorithms can be tuned to the specifications of your organization. If you are running a financial services company, you don’t need an algorithm trained on supply chains. If you are a law firm, you don’t need an algorithm trained to analyze healthcare data. This is what the big AI companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta do. They have general purpose AI that they try to pass off to you as specialized AI. But are you able to tell OpenAI that you want them to specifically tune ChatGPT for your business case? Are you able to audit ChatGPT’s training record? No. This puts you at a disadvantage that you may not be aware of. If you aren’t tuning and training your AI, you are using the wrong tool for the problem, just like your competitors. Now, imagine you could tune your own set of algorithms and get the data story that matters most to you. Imagine you could see a running log of all of the documents the algorithms have ever been trained on. Imagine all this was available without compromising the privacy or security of your data. That’s how we built Kundi and that’s how it’s being used in the market right now. Kundi is an analytics platform designed for the most difficult problems with the messiest data. Kundi does not require special (and expensive) data audits and structuring. Kundi was built to be deployed inside your secure environment (on prem or in a secure cloud). We plug in the data sources and Kundi and its ensemble of agents take over. The analysis works to make your mountain of data into a gold mine through custom outputs that tell a real story. Kundi never calls out to the internet, never touches a public cloud, and its output is NEVER used to train any other AI. Kundi is yours. But don’t worry about Kundi’s autonomy. Kundi is built with audit features that you won’t find anywhere else such as the ability to view the record of algorithmic training. You can see Kundi’s performance in real time and our staff is there to support, maintain, and upgrade Kundi. The tuning process is collaborative between us and your human experts providing a true human in the loop experience. Kundi augments and supports human experts, it does not replace them. Kundi was the first AI off the assembly line at Frontier Foundry. It was immediately deployed in the financial sector where it has been optimizing trading portfolios and analyzing huge volumes of data for years. It is analyzing legal documents and giving attorneys unique (and completely private) insights into their clients’ cases. AI is often marketed as a tool. At Frontier Foundry we build AI as TOOLS because there’s not just one problem. Kundi is a set of AI tools that makes mountains of data into gold mines. Bring us your hardest set of problems and we will bring you our cutting edge AI tool suite.
