What We Build: Limni

Limni was built with the recognition that every business problem and mission challenge is different and unique so why would someone apply a generic tool to fix them?

I don’t know the type of wood the live edge dining room table was made of because I’m not much of a carpenter. Even if I was, it would have been hard to tell because the table in Sultan’s Georgetown townhouse was covered in papers. It was before Frontier Foundry was officially incorporated and we were in the middle of a marathon session scoping out what would become the foundational tech of our company. In the absence of a true whiteboard, there was a giant notepad, the type you would put on an easel. To this day, I’m not sure where that came from because I never saw the easel it would have fit. On it was a system diagram. On the papers and laptops on the table there were equations, graphs, and use cases. This is the short version of Frontier Foundry’s garage story. Garage stories for startups make for great movie scripts, but only if they result in something that people want. Those Tuesday sessions were the beginning of what we would build the company on. While we’ve continued to iterate and improve our products, the first concepts for ensemble AI that is truly privacy preserving were born there. Product Thesis AI works best when it augments human experts, not replaces them. To augment human experts in specialized fields, you need specialized AI. The generalist AI with which most people are accustomed creates artificial barriers to entry for people that deal with sensitive data. Security and privacy preservation are not negotiable as engineering requirements nor customer expectations. Limni Limni is a large language model that does not ask you to sacrifice. It does not ask you to sacrifice, privacy, security, or performance the way most LLMs do. Limni was built with the recognition that every business problem and mission challenge is different and unique so why would someone apply a generic tool to fix them? We built a privacy preserving LLM that reduces hallucinations, produces repeatable results, and gives you unique insights with document citations for every response. There’s a lot to unpack there, which is why the dining room table was so cluttered. Share Privacy Limni lives in your world without needing an internet connection. When your data goes out to public clouds and big LLMs, you lose custody of it. Without assured custody of your data, you are running privacy and security risks that you may not be aware of. Instead of hopping around between multiple clouds and LLMs, Limni is deployed inside your secure architecture where you maintain custody and control at all times, never needing to send your information to a cloud. This allows you to conform to new and existing privacy legislation and regulatory requirements. It also brings LLM capabilities to those whose job requires handling sensitive data. These tools are not off limits to people with access to sensitive data. These tools build and inspire trust and reduce risk giving organizations a leg up in efficiency, automation, and unique insights without sacrificing. Security Security and privacy are non-negotiable to organizations across sectors, so why is it negotiable to large AI companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta? We see security and privacy the way you see it. Non-negotiable. Law firms and legal aid societies will never sacrifice client security and privacy and many other industries are the same. We employ multifactor authentication and provide organizations with a security dashboard among multiple security features we build into our tool. We also have cutting edge audit functions that let you see how the system has been trained to help you identify problems before they arise. Security means protection from malicious attack, but it also means protecting the trust of your customers and employees when you are using tools to create efficiencies for them. Download Specialization Is AI for all the answer to your business problem? Most AI models are generalized to achieve the broadest market appeal. Limni is an AI platform that we tune and train to be a specialist in your specific use case. That means the ensemble of AI agents that makes up Limni are each a specialist in the minutiae of your problem. They are analyzing your data and providing you with hidden insights without hallucinations so your human domain experts can do what they are best at. Pulling customers away from your competitors through superior insights and fast, efficient results. Limni is more than an LLM. It is how you make sense of the mountain of data you are sitting on that will continue to grow. It’s how you create trust with your customers. Limni is how you create competitive advantage over firms that are using generalized AI for specialized problems. Limni is yours. Building is exactly why I sat at Sultan’s table for the first time and for the thousand times after that. Together with our team, we built an LLM that solves the problems that people commonly associate with LLM use. We did it by thinking about what was possible outside of the state of the market. We listened to users and experts. We hired the right people, and we gave them non-negotiable requirements. The result is Limni and it is an agentic LLM that offers real and verifiable privacy and security. It allows users to audit its training and performance to mitigate risk. Limni is powerful but also trustworthy. The combination you need in your AI deployment.
